BEIJING YOUTH VOICES

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Beijing Youth Voices is a project of the U.S. based-nonprofit What Kids Can Do, Inc. and Adobe Youth Voices.

Begun in 2006, Adobe Youth Voices (AYV) is a global philanthropic initiative to empower youth in underserved communities. Demonstrating the power of technology to engage middle- and high-school-age youth, AYV provides breakthrough learning experiences using video, multimedia, digital art, web, animation, and audio tools that enable youth to explore and comment on their world.

For seven years, What Kids Can Do (WKCD) has brought the accomplishment and contributions of youth to the public stage, through its online journal of student work and through direct support of youth research and action projects in the U.S., China, India, Eastern Europe, Tanzania, and along the Burma border. Its nonprofit publishing arm, Next Generation Press, produces books written in collaboration with teens or that present new youth writers and thinkers. All raise awareness of the rising generation as keepers and creators of vital knowledge and vision.
